They are the people we love to hang
out with and hate on behind their backs. They are instant attention grabbers,
so you’re seen with the pretty crowd, you’re pretty by association, yes? Let
them turn their backs for one minute and every other average girls’ tongue will
be wagging about her. Does Miss Pretty think she’s all that and a bag of chips.
Poor things! Yes, poor, because they
have their own issues they are silently dealing with, issues every other miss
average would brush off as part of the stereotypical behavior of the pretties
out there. So, what are some of the issues these women who tend to be followed
by the sun go through?
1. They are the most insecure things
in the world. Women enjoy being told they are beautiful and so forth but for
the pretties, no one tells them because it is assumed they know they are the
best thing to happen since Maize flour begun being sold at KSh 90!
2. They have a limited number of genuine
friends. They will have an entire squad to hit the clubs and social events with
but when things get real, no one will be there. And the one who shows up might
end up being the one who will gather gossip for the others!
3. Being pretty is fair game for
Team Mafisi to have ulterior motives for you. Catcalls, taunts and other lewd
comments are a daily feature for them
5. No man will ever be good enough
for them- he’s either not a pretty to, can’t maintain whatever assumed needs
she might have –like never using public transportation or if he’s below
average, she’s with him for his money.
6. Everything they do will be nitpicked
because as I said, the sun tends to follow them. One mistake and it is breaking
news for days.
7. Automatically assumed to be blondes
probably selling perfume at the mall or some beauty and air hostess course
somewhere. Haven’t you ever seen a pretty tailor or teacher?!
8. Finding love is an uphill task.
They will either be on a fisi’s hit list, date someone who’s only in it for the
fun or not find love at all. People instantly assume they have high maintenance
standards that cannot co-relate well with a long term relationship
9. Cheats. For all the attention
they get- from both men and some women, their significant others are always
wondering if they’re actually doing something extra on the side.
10. She is automatically disliked by other women.
Oh, she thinks now she’s better than us averages, oh, she’s being favoured and
so forth.
11. She can’t have male friends because she’s
an assumed flirt with ulterior motives.
12. Always have to struggle to
maintain standards people think they have. If broke, she’ll have to find cash
to match some expensive outfit she wore the previous day.
13. Any money she has is not her own. Some
boyfriend, male friend or sponsor gave it to her.
